Agriculture: Renewal of ISO accreditation for the. Central Laboratory for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Fish Diseases and Measurement of Water and Fish Quality
Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, received a report from Dr. Mohamed El-Araby, Director of the Project Marine Aquaculture Development in Egypt (MADE II) affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, stating that the ISO accreditation of the Central Laboratory for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Fish Diseases has been renewed, with accreditation extended to include microbiological and chemical tests for food and water, some microbiological tests for environmental swabs, and some chemical tests for feed. This accreditation was granted by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), affiliated with the Ministry of Industry. Dr. Al-Araby stated that the Central Laboratory for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Fish Diseases and Fish and Water Quality Measurement in Ashtoum El-Gamil, Port Said, is a component of the Project Marine Aquaculture Development in Egypt (MADE II), affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. He pointed out that this accreditation will contribute to increasing the laboratory's specialization, having previously been limited to fish testing only, to include some microbiological and chemical tests for food and water, some microbiological tests for environmental swabs, and some chemical tests for feed, in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/IEC 17025/2017.
